Policy & Process Planning
Before you can begin setting up a database system within your organization, you need to create a plan.  How will this change your current policies?  Will a cultural change be required?  Who is responsible for the various aspects of the project and ongoing work?
 

Data and Table Structure
You have some data, but how are you going to use it?  What is the best way to present it that makes sense for all users?  Do you need to gather data elements you don’t yet have at your fingertips?

Needs Assessment
All departments and user groups should be properly interviewed and assessed to ensure everyone’s needs have been identified and matched.  

Selecting a Database System
Selecting the right system for your business is a critical decision.  DB Pros wants to make sure you look at all appropriate software tools that fit the needs of your business.  We will work with you to make system recommendations, sit with you through the demos of these products, and help you come to a final purchase decision.  In addition, we will work with you to negotiate the purchase with the vendor.

Workflow Development
A database system can be your favorite tool at the office if it is set up properly.  Part of this setup requires the creation of workflow – events triggering other events – to make your job easier.

Product Design
Before you can implement a database system, you will most likely have to customize it to your needs.  What fields do I need to add? Remove? Do I need additional tables created?  Does the user interface work for our internal needs or do they need to be modified?  What reports will I need and does the system generate them or do we need to create them?

Communication Plan
In order to successfully implement a database system, you need your end users on board.  Part of getting them there is communicating with them – where are you in the implementation? When are they needed for training? What are the benefits of using the system (WIIFM)?  Will there be changes to the system periodically? What are the expectations from management?  We can help you develop a complete communication plan for your database execution.
